Baloch and Pashtun movements have been going on in Pakistan for a long time. On one hand, the people of Balochistan believe in their separate identity, while on the other hand, the Pashtuns say that the age of Pakistan is 75 years, the age of Islam is 1400 years.
But the identity of the Pashtuns is at least 5000 years old. This is the reason why thousands of Pashtuns have been camping for the last 6 months on the Chaman border connecting Pakistan and Afghanistan.
These people have made a tent city here. They eat and drink here throughout the day and the movement continues.
Actually, the anger of these people is on the Pakistan government because it has banned the entry of people from Afghanistan without visa.
Apart from this, people cannot go from Pakistan also without strong documents. Not only this, Pakistan has declared about 17 lakh people coming from Afghanistan as illegal. Now these people face the danger of being sent back to Afghanistan.
Earlier this was not the case and through Chaman Crossing, Pakistanis living in Chaman could go to Spin Boldak area of Afghanistan without visa.
Similarly, people living in Spin Boldak could have come to Chaman in Pakistan. Both the regions have a similar culture and trade has been going on between them for a long time.
The government of Pakistan has closed this border since November 1 and now 6 months have passed since the movement continued. Till now no talks have been held with the Pakistan government on this issue, but the agitators are not ready to back down.
While talking to Dawn News, an agitator said that the area of 100 square kilometers from Kandahar to Quetta is the same.
People here have been moving easily. But now passport is imposed. Even Mexicans don’t face such problems.
Another agitator said that if we live here, we will hold our sister’s wedding there. We have the same culture and business relationships.
There will be no justice in Punjab, fierce debate on social media too
Not only this, tremendous reaction is being seen in the social media of Pakistan also. Regarding the movement, many people said that this is not Pakistan but Punjabistan.
That is why we have to face such problems. Many people have even prayed for their separation from Pakistan.
At the same time, the people supporting this visa system say that if the argument of kinship is given then the Muhajirs have relatives in India. Should they also be given visa free travel facility?
