America and China can no longer ignore India: Sitharaman – NNSP

Washington. In an event organized in America, Finance Minister Sitharaman explained the importance of India in the world and said that no country in the world can ignore India. He said that PM Modi says that India’s priority is not to establish its dominance. We are the largest democracy in the world. We have the largest population in the world. Today every sixth person in the world is an Indian.
In such a situation, it does not matter whether America is far or China is nearby because no country can ignore India and India’s economy. Especially in the situation in which the Indian economy is growing rapidly. The Union Finance Minister also said during the Center for Global Development program that India has been providing financial assistance to its neighbors in their difficult times even before the IMF. Speaking at the program of the Center for Global Development, the Finance Minister said that India has given financial assistance to many African countries under the Line of Credit scheme, due to which institutions, roads, bridges and railway stations have been built there.

Neighbors are very dear to us: Finance Minister

Taking aim at the slow process of IMF, Sitharaman said that we have been helping our neighbors long before the IMF. I am saying this with full responsibility that I have no intention of belittling the importance of IMF, but we have given money to our neighbors without any conditions. I do not want to take the names of those neighbors nor give any numbers because our neighbors are very dear to us.

Meeting with the President of the World Bank

The Finance Minister also met World Bank President Ajay Banga on the sidelines of the World Bank’s annual meeting. In this meeting, the two discussed the participation of private capital in global public goods, energy security and multilateral development bank reform. During the G20 conference chaired by India, some recommendations were made by the Independent Review Group for reforming the Multilateral Development Bank, which were also discussed between the two.
