Amit Shah will pay tribute to martyred policemen on Police Memorial Day

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will pay tribute to the policemen martyred in the security of the country on Police Memorial Day on October 21 at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi. Shah will address a gathering remembering the martyred policemen and on this occasion will highlight the challenges faced by the policemen. The program will conclude with Home Minister Shah offering floral tributes at the altar dedicated to these police personnel of Hot Springs.

21st October is celebrated as Police Memorial Day throughout the country. On this day, tribute is paid to the policemen who were martyred while protecting the country. Its main function is organized at the National Police Memorial which is presided over by the Union Home Minister. During this, a joint parade of Central Armed Police Forces with Delhi Police is organized.

Why is Police Memorial Day celebrated only on 21st October?

Let us tell you that on 21 October 1959, 10 brave Indian policemen sacrificed their lives in the attack by heavily armed Chinese soldiers in Hot Springs, Ladakh. Police Memorial Day is celebrated on 21st October in his memory.
