Ahmedabad. Amul has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Branch of Ahmedabad regarding the allegations of adulteration in the ghee given as prasad in the Tirupati Balaji temple. Jayen Mehta, MD of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, said that the ghee found in Tirupati Devasthanam in Andhra Pradesh has been accused of adulteration and some people have promoted it as Amul ghee.
In his complaint, Jayen Mehta said that this matter is serious for the 36 lakh families associated with Amul. We want to make it clear that Amul has never supplied ghee to Tirupati Devasthanam. Our products are of high quality and pass the highest standards. He said that an FIR has been lodged to stop the propaganda spreading on social media.
Amul had earlier clarified in a statement that it has not supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). The company said in a post released on social media platform X, that we have never supplied Amul ghee to TTD. Amul’s post further stated that their ghee is prepared in state-of-the-art production facilities, which are ISO certified.
