People’s anger has not subsided over the incident of rape and murder of a doctor in RG Kar College of Kolkata.

Meanwhile, people of Indian community have protested against this incident in 130 cities of 25 countries of the world.

The protesters have unanimously demanded justice for the Kolkata incident. People demonstrated in large and small groups in Japan, Australia, Taiwan and Singapore.

Apart from this, people in many European countries also expressed anger over the Kolkata incident. In America alone, protests took place at 60 places.

It is worth noting that today there is a hearing in the Supreme Court on the rape and murder incident that took place on August 9. Apart from the accused Sanjay Roy, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College has also been arrested in the case.

A large number of women dressed in black gathered at Sergels Torg Square in a protest in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

These people were singing songs in Bengali and holding placards in their hands. All of them were demanding accountability for the crime and safety of Indian women.

Deepti Jain, an organiser of the protests around the world, said: “The news of this heinous crime committed on a young trainee doctor in the line of duty has shocked us all.

This is a great cruelty towards humanity. Deepti Jain is a former student of Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital and a British citizen. She had organised a protest with women doctors in Britain last month.

It is noteworthy that slogans demanding justice were raised on Sunday night in several cities and towns of West Bengal, including Kolkata, in connection with the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital.

Protesters including women and men, young and old, took to the streets, formed human chains, painted graffiti on the streets, carried burning torches and sang the national anthem to protest the rape and murder of a female intern doctor at RG Kar Hospital.

Many people waved the tricolour. Civil society has allowed only the tricolour to be hoisted at non-political rallies across the state to register protest.
