Kolkata. The condition of one more doctor, who is on hunger strike since October 6 in protest against the rape-murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, has become critical. The doctors sitting on strike said that their colleague Dr. Anustup Mukherjee was taken to the hospital in a critical condition on Saturday night. A protesting doctor said that blood was coming from Mukherjee’s stool. He also complained of severe stomach pain. The state government is responsible for the worsening of the condition of 3 doctors, because the government is not accepting all our demands. Earlier on Saturday evening, the condition of Dr. Alok Verma, who was on hunger strike at North Bengal Medical College, deteriorated, after which he was admitted to the hospital. On October 10, trainee doctor Aniket Mahato was admitted to the CCU of RG Kar Hospital. Actually, a trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Hospital on the night of 8th August. On August 9, the victim’s body was found in the medical college. From the next day, junior doctors protested for 42 days. The state government did not accept the demands of the doctors. Due to which the doctors started a hunger strike from the evening of 5th October. A total of 10 doctors are involved in this.
