Amid the fierce fighting continuing in Gaza, the Israeli army has successfully rescued another Israeli from Hamas captivity.
The IDF and Shin Bet jointly carried out this secret operation.
The rescued Israeli is a 52-year-old man who was taken captive by Hamas terrorists on October 7 last year.
He was kept at different locations in Gaza and Rafah since then. Israel is seeing this rescue operation as a big success. This is the eighth successful rescue in the last 10 months.
The IDF and Shin Bet on Tuesday rescued Israeli-Bedouin hostage Qaid Farhan al-Qadi from Rafah, who had been held by Hamas since October 7.
The operation was led by Division 162, Brigade 401, Yahalom anti-tunnel special forces and Shayetet 13 naval commandos. The hostage’s name is Qaid Farhan al-Qadi. His age is said to be 52 years.
According to the Israeli army, al-Qadi is completely healthy and his health is being checked in the hospital. The Israeli army refused to reveal the name of the hospital due to security reasons.
Fourth successful operation against Hamas
It is worth noting that this is the fourth successful operation to rescue live Israeli hostages from Hamas. However, there have been several successful operations before to find and bring back the bodies of dozens of hostages killed by Hamas.
Al-Qadi is the eighth surviving hostage rescued from Gaza. The number of remaining hostages has now dropped from 250 to 108.
Al-Qadi is the first surviving hostage to be rescued from the tunnel, prior to which all surviving hostages were rescued above ground.
