Not only do banks remain closed on national holidays and state holidays, banks also have a holiday on the second and fourth Saturday of every month.

Apart from this they are closed every Sunday.

Banks operate on the first, third and fifth Saturdays. This 6th April is the first Saturday of the month. That means all banks in India will remain open this Saturday.

According to the holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for 14 days in April. This includes Sunday and second and fourth Saturday.

Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jamaat-ul-Vida, Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year Day/Sajibu Nongmapanaba (Cheiraoba)/First Navratri, Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr), Bohag, Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi in April Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Biju Mahotsav, Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day, Shri Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain) and Gariya Puja.

Bank Holiday April 2024: State wise list

2 April- Banks were closed in Tripura.

5th April- Banks remained closed in Hyderabad-Telangana, Jammu and Srinagar.

9 April- Banks are closed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Manipur, Goa, Jammu and Srinagar.

10th April- Banks are closed in Kerala.

11 April- Banks are closed in most states except Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

13 April- Banks are closed in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Jammu and Srinagar.

15th April- Banks are closed in Assam and Himachal Pradesh.

16 April- Banks are closed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
