Army Chief on patrolling agreement…it will take time to gain trust

China said, we will resolve our border dispute together

New Delhi . After the patrolling agreement between India and China on LAC, China’s Foreign Ministry said that we will resolve our border dispute together. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi called this agreement a good step. He said that first of all both the countries will have to build trust again. For this it is necessary for the soldiers to see and talk to each other. The right environment for this will be provided through patrolling.

In fact, before the start of the BICS conference, India and China had agreed on patrolling on Monday. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had said that there has been an agreement between India and China regarding the border patrolling system. This will bring back the situation before May 2020 (Galwan confrontation). This is a positive step for both the countries. Army Chief General Dwivedi said, we are in the process of regaining trust. This will take time.

Withdrawal of armies and buffer zone management are also important for this. How do we build trust? When we can listen to each other and satisfy each other. We will be able to express confidence that we will go into the buffer zones that have been created. Patrolling will make it easier for you to do this process. Both sides will get a chance to explain to each other. Once trust is established then the next step will be taken.
