Srinagar. Three terrorists were killed by security forces in a more than 24-hour long operation against terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir. Army’s White Knight Corps has killed three terrorists in Akhnoor operation. White Knight Corps posted on Twitter, “Round-the-clock surveillance was followed by a fierce gunbattle on Tuesday morning, which led to a significant victory for our forces and all three terrorists were killed in the encounter. Operation ‘Asan’ was launched by special forces, police and army after a group of terrorists targeted an ambulance near a temple near the LoC in Bhattal area and opened fire on an army convoy.
The dog Phantom also made the supreme sacrifice in the campaign.
The Army’s specialist dog Phantom also made the supreme sacrifice in the operation, a defense spokesperson said. He said, we salute the supreme sacrifice of our true hero, a brave army dog, Phantom. As our troops were approaching the trapped terrorists, the Phantom encountered enemy fire, due to which the Phantom suffered fatal injuries. His courage, loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten. There have been seven attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last two weeks. In this, along with two soldiers being martyred, 13 people died. Following the attacks, high alert had already been sounded for the border districts of Jammu, including Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a review meeting in Srinagar on the security situation and development aspects of all the districts of Kashmir division.
