According to media reports, Pakistan has started increasing its contacts in Bangladesh. For the past few weeks, the Pakistan High Commission has been holding meetings with members of the interim government.
There are reports that during this time discussions have taken place between the officials of the High Commission and the members of the new government on topics ranging from flood relief to student exchange programs. The Pakistan High Commission has also shared information related to this on social media.
Bangladesh and Pakistan relations

Apart from this, in the parliamentary elections held in the year 2018, the Pakistan High Commission was also accused of supporting the candidates of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
On Sunday itself, a meeting was held between the officials of the High Commission and the advisors of the interim government. The Pakistan High Commission wrote on Twitter, ‘It was nice to meet the advisors of the interim government Mohammad Nahid Islam and Asif Mohammad Shojib Bhuiyan.
Issues of common interest, including cooperation in the fields of media, sports, youth and culture and IT, were discussed. Some pictures of the meeting have also been shared.
PM Shahbaz Sharif also spoke
According to media reports, on Friday itself, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had talked to the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus.
At the same time, it is said that during Hasina’s tenure as Prime Minister, the Prime Ministers of the two countries spoke on very few occasions. Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary had also met Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor.
