Seven people who entered a lodge in Karnataka and beat up an inter-religious couple have also been accused of rape.
According to the police, the woman, who was in the room with her partner, claims that the attackers took her to a secluded place and raped her one by one.
Now a case of rape has also been registered against these seven people. In this case, a video was released by the victim.
In this she alleged, ‘I was raped in the forest. After this the attackers forcibly put me in the car and drove me around the city. The driver also raped me.
The victim woman said that after taking her around the city, they left her at the bus stop. I want them to be punished. Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar has given a statement regarding this matter.
He said, ‘We were not told about the rape earlier. We got this information from the media report in which the video of the woman was mentioned.
We have registered a case regarding this under the appropriate section. Police informed that the Muslim woman was married and was in a relationship with the man with whom she had come to the hotel.
Had a relationship with the bus driver for 3 years
According to the police, this incident happened on January 8. A 26-year-old married woman from the minority community came and stayed in the hotel room at 1 pm with a 40-year-old bus driver.
The woman and the man were in a relationship for the last 3 years. The gang members recorded a video of the incident that took place inside the hotel room.
Later this video went viral on social media. In the video, 6 people can be seen knocking on the door of a room. When the man opened the door, the attackers forcibly entered the room and moved towards the woman.
The auto driver saw both of them going to the hotel
The police officer said that the attackers misbehaved with the lovers, assaulted them and also made a video of the woman.
During this time the woman was trying to cover her face with a burqa. When the couple entered the hotel, an auto rickshaw driver saw them.
Seeing the burqa-clad woman with a man from another community, he immediately informed a gang of local boys. The boys also belonged to the minority community.
The officer said that the youth forcibly pulled the loving couple out of the room.
