Riyadh. Two Saudi officials have been killed in an attack against Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen. According to a Saudi Defense Ministry spokesperson in media reports, the attack took place on Friday evening at a military camp in the city of Siyun in central Yemen. One officer and one non-commissioned officer were martyred while one officer was injured in the attack.
The spokesman identified the attacker as an associate of the Yemeni Defense Ministry, but clarified that it was a lone wolf attack, with no connection to the Yemeni Defense Ministry. He said the military camp that was attacked was used to provide anti-terrorism training to Yemeni military personnel and help with humanitarian and development initiatives in Yemen. After this attack, the coalition and the Defense Ministry have started investigating the matter.
