New Delhi. An important announcement has been made for senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Under this, now even elderly people above 70 years of age will be able to get health insurance coverage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can announce the launch of this scheme during a program on October 29. For this, the elders of Madhya Pradesh are applying in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana portal, but this is not happening due to the closure of the portal. The portal will be launched soon, after which the action can proceed. Under this extension, approximately 6 crore senior citizens will get free health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year. This step fulfills the government’s promise to provide quality healthcare to all citizens. However, currently the portal of Ayushman Bharat Yojana is closed, due to which new applications are not being accepted. Senior citizens are advised not to panic and apply again after some time.
