During an interview, Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy explained how Infosys was born.

According to NR Narayan, he had applied for a job in Wipro, but he was not selected.

After which he formed his own company and named it Infosys. Today, Infosys is one of the biggest competitors of Wipro in the IT industry.

Later, former Wipro chairman Azim Premji said the decision not to hire me was a mistake, the billionaire businessman said in an interview on Saturday.

He told me that if I had been hired by Wipro, things would have been different for both of them.

Let us tell you that in 1981, NR Narayana Murthy founded Infosys with Rs 10,000 along with his six friends. He had taken this money from his wife and writer Sudha Murthy.

As of 12 January 2024, Infosys is valued at ₹6.65 lakh crore and Wipro is valued at ₹2.43 lakh crore.

Before Infosys, NR Narayana Murthy had started a company called Softronics. But this company was not successful and later it had to be closed.

Murthy told that his wife Sudha Murthy had once expressed her desire to be a part of the Infosys team.
