Bangladesh called back two diplomats from India, a big decision amid tension in relations…

Two Bangladeshi diplomats posted in India have been recalled back to Dhaka.

The interim government of Bangladesh has taken this decision. This order was issued on August 17, after which the diplomats have now gone back.

Both these diplomats were appointed during the Sheikh Hasina government. Shaban Mahmud and Ranjana Sen were posted as press secretaries.

Of these, Shaban Mahmood was appointed in the High Commission in Delhi, while Ranjana Sen was posted in the Consulate in Kolkata.

Ranjana Sen’s tenure was due to end by the end of 2026, but she was recalled before her contract expired.

Similarly, Shaban’s contact was also pending. This decision is important in view of the uneasiness in relations between India and Bangladesh.

Earlier this month, India had also called back some of its diplomats from Bangladesh. India had said that those staff whose work is not very important there have been called back for security reasons.

Especially considering the kind of violence that broke out in Dhaka, there was talk of calling it for security reasons. In such a situation, this action of Bangladesh is also being seen as a response to India.

One of the reasons for the uneasiness in the relations between India and Bangladesh is that Sheikh Hasina came to India after the coup. She has been here for the last three weeks. Her diplomatic passport has also been suspended by the interim government of Bangladesh.

There is talk that now the Bangladesh government may demand the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina’s troubles are also increasing because a total of 51 cases are going on against her in Bangladesh.

Of these, 42 cases are of murder alone. Let us tell you that the Bangladesh government has also prevented many leaders who were ministers during Sheikh Hasina’s regime from leaving the country and cases are being run against them.
