At least 27 people were killed and 30 others injured in clashes between supporters of the ruling Awami League and protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Sunday. At least two people were killed and 30 others injured in clashes between protesters and Awami League supporters in Munshiganj. However, the identity of the deceased has not been revealed in the report.

The protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and raised slogans demanding justice for those killed in recent protests over reservation reforms. Protesters also gathered at the capital’s Science Lab Square on the first day of the non-cooperation movement and raised anti-government slogans. The protesters arrived to participate in a ‘non-cooperation programme’ demanding the resignation of the government. They were opposed by Awami League, Chhatra League and Jubo League activists and then a clash broke out between the two sides.
200 people died during protests in Bangladesh
