The interim government of Bangladesh has decided to release a dreaded terrorist.
Jashimuddin Rahmani, head of Al Qaeda-linked terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team, has been released.
This is a matter of concern for India as this terrorist organization is trying to create Jihadi network near the Indian border with the help of sleeper cells.
Rahmani, who was jailed in connection with the murder of a social media influencer, was released on parole on Monday, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
In the last few months, several terrorists associated with Ansarullah Bangla Team have been arrested in Assam.
Two terrorists of this terrorist group were arrested outside Guwahati railway station. This group is believed to have direct links with Al Qaeda.
According to the Bangladeshi newspaper, Rahmani was sentenced to five years in prison in the murder case of social media influencer Rajib Haider in 2013, after which he was accused of terrorist activities.
Rahmani’s organisation ABT was banned in 2015, after which he changed the name of his organisation to Ansar al-Islam. The Bangladeshi government also banned it in 2017.
According to a report in India Today, Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is plotting to spread terror in India, has allegedly partnered with ABT to carry out terror incidents in the northeastern states of India.
Both these terrorist organizations started anti-India conspiracies from the end of 2021. Assam Police has arrested terrorists associated with ABT on several occasions, due to which this group failed to carry out any major attack in this state.
Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country after violent protests broke out across the country on August 5, after which the interim government formed with the support of the army is constantly trying to reverse her decisions.
Sheikh Hasina was considered a friend of India. During her rule, India never had to face many terrorist incidents from Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina never allowed Bangladesh’s soil to be used for anti-India activities. The Indian government also consistently supported Hasina.
But since the change of power in Bangladesh this month, attempts have been made to incite anti-India and anti-Hindu sentiments there.
PM Modi also spoke to interim government chief Yunus over the phone and expressed his concern over the attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus.
