Bangladeshi leader got angry for supporting Sheikh Hasina, said a big thing about relations with India…

As soon as there was a change of power in Bangladesh, the radical Bangladesh Nationalist Party has started showing its colours.

BNP, the main opposition party of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League, has started spewing venom against India.

It has also objected to providing temporary shelter to Sheikh Hasina in India. Senior BNP leader Gayeshwar Roy said that they want good relations with India so that mutual cooperation can continue.

Gyeswara Rao, a senior BNP leader and minister in the Bangladesh government in 1991, also said that good relations would become difficult if India supported his enemy Sheikh Hasina.

Roy said, the Indian government will have to understand this. If India supports our enemy then it will be difficult to respect cooperation.

Our former Foreign Minister had said in the last election that India would cooperate in Sheikh Hasina’s return to power.

In such a situation, India used to take responsibility of Sheikh Hasina. The people of India and Bangladesh do not have any problem with each other. But should we leave the entire country and support one party?

Regarding the attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, he said, a perception has been created that BNP is anti-Hindu. BNP is made up of people from different communities of Bangladesh.

It includes people of all religions. I myself am in the biggest decision-making forum of BNP. BNP is a nationalist party. It advocates personal rights of all communities.

He said, when I was a minister in 1991, I started the system of donating for Durga Puja. After this, no government could stop it and this system is still running today.

Our party’s government did this. Regarding the use of Bangladesh by terrorist organizations against India, Roy said that this is also a rumour.

This is not true. India helped us in independence and we cannot be against it.
