BBC’s report on Ram Temple is biased and inflammatory, British MP is furious; Demand for debate on fairness in Parliament…

Last month, a British MP has criticized the BBC’s coverage of the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Lala in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on January 22, calling it biased, discriminatory and inflammatory.

Conservative MP Bob Blackman raised the issue in the House of Commons on Thursday and called for a debate on the impartiality of the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Conservative MP Bob Blackman said on the floor of Parliament, “Last week, Ram Lalla was consecrated in the newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram in Uttar Pradesh, India. This has brought great joy to Hindus around the world but sadly the BBC has described it as being built on the site of the destruction of a mosque, forgetting that there was a temple there more than 2,000 years ago and Muslims “Five acres of land has been allotted near the city to build the mosque.”

The Conservative MP called for a debate in the House on the impartiality of the BBC and its failure to provide a decent record of what is going on around the world. To this, House of Commons leader Penny Mordaunt replied that very important “issues” had been raised in the recent BBC review.

Let us tell you that BBC had published an article on the life of Ram Lala, in which it was said that while the mosque was demolished, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the temple.

The BBC received so many complaints over this that it had to publish a response, saying, “Some readers felt the article was biased against Hindus and used inflammatory language. They also objected to our reporting in the headline that the temple was built on the site of a 16th-century mosque, which we reported was demolished by a Hindu mob in 1992. We believe there should be a fair and accurate account of what happened. We do not agree that this article is insulting Hindus.”
