Mumbai New revelations are emerging in the ongoing investigation into the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. With this revelation the murder charges against Lawrence Bishnoi become stronger. Police have said that the three suspected shooters had communicated with the jailed gangster’s Canada-based cousin Anmol Bishnoi through an instant messaging app before the murder. It is suspected that Anmol had sent him pictures of Siddiqui and his son MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui through the app.
Earlier, Shubham Lonkar, a suspected henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi, had claimed responsibility for the murder in a social media post. The post was later deleted. An officer said, we have identified two layers of this case. The shooter and the weapon supplier were identified. We are approaching the third layer, which may include the conspirators and those who issue murder contracts. Mumbai Police say they have also found photographs of the suspected killers practicing firing on September 13. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has found evidence of some such conversations.
Police sources say that the message and picture were not deleted after the conversation. Let us tell you that two suspected murderers Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap are in custody. The third, Shivkumar Gautam, who is considered the main shooter, is currently absconding. Seven others have also been arrested. It is noteworthy that veteran politician Baba Siddiqui (66), who had joined the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party, was shot dead by three people in Nirmal Nagar area of Mumbai on October 12. The firing took place outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui. Police have so far arrested 10 people in connection with the shooting, including the two alleged shooters, Haryana residents Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap.
