He extended best wishes to ‘his friends in India’. It has also been said that whatever may be the political forces, friendly relations between India and Russia will remain intact. He has also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Moscow.
Currently, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on a visit to Russia. Putin said during his meeting with Jaishankar, ‘We will be very happy to see our friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Russia.’
He said, ‘I ask you to convey my best wishes to him. Please tell them that we are waiting for them in Russia.
The special thing is that this meeting between Putin and Jaishankar is considered very important. It is said that Putin does not usually meet foreign ministers.
During this, he also mentioned the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He said, ‘However, I know that India will have a busy election schedule next year.’ He said, ‘We wish our friends in India all the best.’
Jaishankar held a ‘meaningful’ meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov here and during this he talked about the international situation and contemporary issues.
Jaishankar, who is on a five-day visit to Russia, also discussed with Lavrov the Indo-Pacific region, Ukraine conflict, situation in Gaza, Afghanistan and Central Asia, BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, G20 and the United Nations.
Putin told what PM Modi wants
The Russian President informed that he has also spoken to PM Modi on the Ukraine issue. He said, ‘I have told him many times how the situation is here and I know that he (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) wants to do everything possible from his side, so that this issue is resolved peacefully.’
