Bharat Bandh announced, what will open and what will remain closed; know everything…

Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti has called for a complete Bharat Bandh on Wednesday, August 21st, against the recent judgement of the Supreme Court on reservation.

National Confederation of Dalits and Adivasis said that this judgment of the Supreme Court is against Dalits and backward classes. The government should immediately cancel this judgment.

Along with calling for the bandh, the committee has also released a list of its demands, the main demand of which is justice and equality for SC, ST and backward classes and apart from this, demands like giving 50 percent reservation to these communities in the judiciary are also included.

What is likely to remain closed due to Bharat Bandh

No guidelines have been issued by any state government yet on the Bharat Bandh being held due to the Supreme Court’s judgment.

These organizations have a strong hold in UP and Rajasthan, so the bandh may have an impact here. In such a situation, the police administration has been put on alert.

The committee has also appealed to the common people to not come out of their homes. The organizations have said that no public transport will run in the country, all the common people are appealed to support this bandh keeping in mind their future generations.

Who is likely to be affected

The committee has issued an advisory for the general public and appealed to keep everything closed from 6 am to 8 am except medical services, police and fire services. However, work will continue in offices, banks, petrol pumps, schools and colleges.

BSP, JMM and RJD have extended their support to this bandh. According to Zee News, the impact of this bandh is likely to be seen in Rajasthan, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.

After all, for what reasons is Bharat Bandh being done?

This Bharat Bandh has been announced regarding the decision of reservation within reservation given by a bench of seven judges of the Supreme Court.

The organizations believe that this decision of the Supreme Court weakens the decision taken by a bench of nine judges in the historic Indira Sawhney case, thereby weakening the foundation of reservation.

BSP supremo Mayawati had also appealed to the central government to call a special session and cancel this decision of the Supreme Court.

Mayawati says that this order will harm the Dalits. Apart from this, NACDAOR requested the government to pass a new law by the Parliament on reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.
