CBSE: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a major action, under which 21 schools in Delhi and Rajasthan have been suspended, while the status of 6 other schools has been reduced from senior secondary to secondary. This action has been taken due to high absenteeism of students in schools. CBSE took this step after it was found enrollment of “dummy” students in these schools. The board has given time to the concerned schools to respond within 30 days.
CBSE has taken this action after the surprise inspection conducted on September 3. The purpose of this inspection was to check compliance with the board’s rules, especially regarding the attendance of students. The board said that many students were absent from classes 9 to 12 in these schools, which raises questions on the credibility of the educational system.
Schools were given 30 days time
CBSE has given 30 days time to these schools so that they can present their stand to follow the guidelines of the board. After this the situation of the schools will be re-evaluated.
