Big change in the management of Wipro, the company’s CEO resigned…

Thierry Delaporte, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the leading IT company Wipro, has resigned.

The company has given this information to the stock market. Along with this, the company has declared Srinivas Palliya as the new CEO and Managing Director.

According to the information given by Wipro, the tenure of Thierry Delaporte is till 31 May 2024. After this Srinivas Palliya will take charge.

Wipro said that for the appointment of Palliya, necessary approvals have to be taken from the shareholders and the central government. His appointment is effective from April 7 for five years.

Delaporte said in his resignation letter – I am writing to resign from my post as CEO and MD of Wipro Limited. This has been an incredible honor and I’m grateful for the opportunity to play a role in it.

The appointment was made in 2020

Delaporte, appointed as CEO of Wipro in July 2020, played an important role in the company’s growth. He was the highest paid CEO in the Indian IT sector till last year.

Delaporte’s salary package left HCL Technologies, TCS executives behind. Delaporte’s annual salary was more than Rs 82 crore.

Delaporte is from France

56 year old Thierry Delaporte is a resident of France. Delaporte has three decades of experience in the global IT sector.

Before assuming the role of CEO of Wipro, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Capgemini, a renowned French IT firm.

Wipro share status

Last Friday, Wipro’s share price was Rs 485.20. The stock closed 0.47% lower than a day earlier. The share price on 19 February 2024 was Rs 546.10. This is the 52-week high of the stock.
