At the State Guest House Pahuna, Chief Minister Sai honored Jageshwar Yadav for increasing the pride of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was also included in his work, Sai used to eat food while sitting with Birhors in the courtyard.
Birhor, a special backward tribe considered to be the adopted son of the President, was so shy till a few years ago that he used to run away on seeing someone wearing shoes and slippers coming.
To include them in the mainstream of development, Jageshwar Yadav resolved not to wear shoes or slippers throughout his life so that he would not shy away from meeting them.
Gradually they succeeded in bringing about a big change and now the first generation of Birhors have become educated. They are moving forward to take benefits of government schemes.
When Jageshwar Yadav was 21 years old, he saw the plight of the people of Birhor tribe and resolved to serve them. Today it has been four decades and his service work continues uninterrupted.

This public leader and service-oriented worker, who served the Birhor tribe with a determined spirit and came from a backward class, was honored by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at the State Guest House, Pahuna.
The Chief Minister congratulated him on the decision of the Central Government to honor him with Padma Shri. The Chief Minister said that you have increased the pride of entire Chhattisgarh.
Yadav also thanked the Chief Minister and expressed his gratitude towards him and said that I will never forget your full support throughout this journey.
You sat with the Birhor brothers and ate rice in the kitchen. Whatever plans we took to you for their education. You said that this is a good work, take it forward, I will help you in this.
He said that the Chief Minister has taken the decision to provide houses to the homeless in the very first cabinet. With this, all the Birhors will be able to get permanent houses.
The Chief Minister said that the Central Government’s decision to honor Jageshwar Yadav with Padma Shri is an honor for a worker committed to the spirit of service.
When Corona spread in the state and Modi ji made the vaccine facility available, the Birhor people had apprehensions about the vaccine and despite repeated requests from the administration, they refused to take it.
Then Jageshwar Yadav was sent to prepare the Birhors for this. Birhors consider him as their Messiah. When Jageshwar Yadav requested, everyone agreed, this is a proof of his deep penetration among the Birhors.
In Pali development block he organized 3 programs for Birhors and every time I participated in these programs. When I got to know about his honour, I was very happy.
It is noteworthy that due to the efforts of Jageshwar Yadav, not only Birhor people are associated with education. He has also started farming. Those Birhors who were engaged in begging are selling paddy today.
Kenda Ram of village Khalbora of Dharamjaygarh is now selling paddy. Jageshwar Yadav has also started an ashram for Birhors in Dharamjaygarh. There is a lot of happiness among the Birhors also on receiving Padma Shri.
