Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released the second list of 72 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Names of 20 candidates from Karnataka are also included in this list. There are a total of 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state. This time BJP has canceled the ticket of MP Pratap Simha from Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat.
In his place, the party has fielded Yaduveer Krishnadutt Chamaraj Wadiyar. There were many controversies regarding Pratap Simha, who had won the Mysore seat in the Lok Sabha elections twice, after which the party has now decided not to make him a candidate.
Last year, on the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attack, there was a major security lapse in Parliament. During the proceedings of the House in the Lok Sabha, two people jumped inside the House from the audience gallery and started moving rapidly towards the MPs.
After this the MPs present there caught him. Out of these, one person released a yellow colored spray from his shoe and created smoke in the Parliament.
After this scandal, name of BJP MP Pratap Simha also came up. Actually, Sagar, who jumped into the Parliament, had entered through the visitor pass of BJP MP Pratap Simha.
Visitor pass is required to watch the proceedings of Parliament and accused Sagar had taken entry on the visitor pass of MP Pratap Simha. Pratap has been elected member of Lok Sabha twice from Mysore seat.
BJP MP’s old connection with controversies
Pratap Simha has a long association with controversies. He had also given a statement regarding the dome-shaped bus stations and said that they look like mosques. The MP had also threatened to demolish them, which had created a lot of controversy. Pratap Simha had said, “I have seen dome-like shapes in bus shelters.
A big dome in the middle and two smaller domes on either side. It is nothing but a mosque. Engineers will have to remove these types of shelters. Otherwise, I will bring JCB and mow them down. Not only this, Simha had also targeted animal lovers.
He had said that dog lovers would understand the danger of stray dogs after seeing their children bitten by dogs. Stray dogs should be eliminated without any mercy.
The MP said that because of animal lovers we are not able to take any action. They realize the problem when stray dogs bite their children.
Feeding stray dogs will do no good and is not as big a social service as they try to make it out to be.
