Former Punjab Finance Minister and BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal has been admitted to a private hospital in Bathinda after suffering a heart attack.
Doctors have inserted two stents in him. His condition remains critical and he is admitted in the ICU ward.
After receiving information about Manpreet Badal’s health deteriorating, his supporters gathered outside the hospital. Doctors say that two stents have been inserted. Manpreet Badal will soon recover completely.
Today was the first death anniversary of former Chief Minister Late Prakash Singh Badal. For this, a function was organized in village Badal, in which Manpreet Badal was also to attend, but suddenly he started having chest pain. He was brought to a private hospital in Bathinda for checkup.
On checkup, it was found that his condition was serious and he had suffered a heart attack. Dr. Rajesh Jindal of Jindal Heart Hospital, who treated Manpreet Badal, said that Manpreet Badal had chest pain last night and also had pain on Sunday morning.
When his ECG and angiography were done, the problem of blockage was revealed. The artery has been opened by inserting 2 stents. Dr. Jindal told that he will be discharged from the hospital after 48 hours.
Sukhbir Badal came to know about the condition of his cousin.
After getting information about Manpreet Badal suffering a heart attack, his cousin and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal reached the hospital.
Apart from former minister Sikandar Singh Maluka, SAD party senior leadership was present with him. Sukhbir Badal met Manpreet Badal and inquired about his well being.
Investigation going on in land allotment case
Vigilance Bureau has registered a case of fraud in land allotment case against Manpreet Badal. Apart from Manpreet, 5 more accused were named in this case.
He is accused that while being the Finance Minister, he misused his position and bought 2 plots in Model Town Bathinda at a low price.
In this, the government suffered a financial loss of about Rs 65 lakh. Punjab Vigilance Bureau had registered a case of crime and corruption against Manpreet Singh Badal and others.
Manpreet Badal was undoubtedly successful in getting anticipatory bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, but the vigilance investigation is still going on.
