Bloody clash between Imran Khan’s supporters and Pak Army, 6 protesters and 4 soldiers killed in firing…

There was a huge uproar in Islamabad, the capital of neighboring country Pakistan, on Tuesday also.

Thousands of workers and supporters of the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protested demanding the release of former Prime Minister and party founder Imran Khan, ignoring government restrictions.

Pakistan Army and Police had to take charge to remove the protesters gathered at D Chowk in the capital.

What happened was that the pro-Imran Khan protesters stormed the heavily guarded area, escalating their confrontation with military personnel.

Seeing the situation going out of control, the army and police opened fire on the protesters. This further enraged the agitators and they also attacked the army and paramilitary forces.

Six protesters died in this bloody clash. Dawn report said that four paramilitary soldiers were also killed in the attack by the protesters.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the incident and called it an attack by protesters. Pakistan’s Home Minister has said that at least four security personnel have died in this attack.

Let us tell you that protests have been going on for the last four days under the leadership of Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, Pakistani Rangers as well as Pakistani Army have been deployed to protect the major government buildings and military troops located at D-Chowk in Islamabad.

Security forces have been authorized to take a number of measures, including shooting at rioters and the army has been given the power to impose curfew if necessary, Dawn reported.

The report said businesses were closed at Aabpara Chowk after tear gas shells were fired while additional police officers were called from Rawalpindi.

As several PTI protesters reached Islamabad’s D-Chowk amid deadlock in talks between the government and the opposition, security forces fired intense tear gas shells at them.

Today’s much-publicized show of strength is being held after PTI had asked its supporters across the country to reach the capital from Sunday.

Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the deployment of the army in the red zone of the city after the government invoked Article 245.

D-Chowk, an intersection in the fortified Red Zone in Islamabad, has long been a site of political protests.

Important government buildings including the Parliament House, the Supreme Court, the Pakistan Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office are located around this square.
