The agitation of farmers of Punjab-Haryana continues on the demand of MSP guarantee.

Meanwhile, the situation went out of control during the farmers’ demonstration in Hisar, Haryana on Friday. In fact, thousands of farmers had gathered at Khedi Chopta in Hisar on Friday to march towards the Khanauri border, to disperse which the policemen resorted to lathi charge.

Angered by this, the farmers started throwing stones at the police personnel. Seeing the situation going out of control, the police personnel had to fire tear gas shells.

Some farmers have been hurt in this violence, while a police officer has been injured. In view of the situation, the district administration has deployed additional forces there.

Media reports said that farmer unions and Khap Panchayats had asked farmers to gather at Khedi Chopta. These farmers wanted to march from there to Khanauri on the Punjab border but the police had stopped them. This enraged the farmers.

In the video footage of the clash between the farmers and the police, it can be clearly seen that while the police is moving forward by detaining a person accused of spreading disturbance, the farmers have surrounded the policemen.

Let us tell you that the farmers of Haryana were sitting on strike at Khedi Chopta for the last five days in support of the farmers protesting at the Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana.

They were planning to march to join the protesting farmers at the border of both the states. Police also used water cannons to disperse hundreds of people who had gathered to protest in the area.

Meanwhile, a 62-year-old farmer, who was taking part in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march at Khanauri on the border, died of a heart attack. The deceased was identified as Darshan Singh, a native of Amargarh village in Bathinda district.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) are leading the farmers’ agitation at Shambhu and Khanauri border of Punjab and Haryana with their various demands including law on MSP.
