BSF and Punjab Police have arrested a drug smuggler in a joint operation in a village in Tarn Taran district. It is being told that during the operation, the security forces kept an eye on the activities of the suspect and raided his hideout. In the raid, the team has recovered a huge amount of drugs, which made it clear that the accused is part of a big network. After the disclosure of the arrested smuggler, a joint search operation has been started in another area as well. At that place, the search team has recovered a packet of heroin weighing 678 grams.
Let us tell you that recently the BSF had demanded the deployment of an additional battalion on the Punjab front of the India-Pakistan border to prevent cross-border drone attacks and curb infiltration carrying drugs and ammunition. The force currently has about 20 battalions to protect the more than 500 km long front, out of which 18 are deployed on the border, while the rest have been deployed at the Attari check post in Amritsar and Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district to meet the needs of the Kartarpur corridor.
