Two passengers died and 19 others were injured in a horrific bus accident in Sangrur district of Punjab. An AC bus going from Chandigarh to Bathinda lost control and overturned near Bhawanigarh while trying to save a tempo. The injured have been admitted to the hospital and the police are investigating the matter.
A major accident took place in Sangrur, Punjab (Punjab Bus Accident). The government AC bus of PRTC going from Chandigarh to Bathinda lost control while saving a tempo near Bhawanigarh before reaching Sangrur and overturned in the roadside ditch.
Two passengers have died in this bus accident, while 19 passengers are said to be seriously injured. Passersby including STF team reached the spot immediately after the accident and pulled out the passengers from the bus after a lot of effort.
2 passengers died
Of the seriously injured passengers, 16 passengers were referred to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, while three passengers were referred to Civil Hospital, Sangrur. At the same time, the remaining passengers were sent home after giving first aid.
Two including woman killed, 19 injured
Two people including a woman died in this tragic accident. The deceased have been identified as Rajinder Kumar (28), son of Ram Subhag, resident of Baldakalan and Gurpreet Kaur (50), resident of Tungwali district, Bathinda.
The matter is being investigated
The remaining injured are undergoing treatment at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. SHO Jasveer Singh from Bhawanigarh police station, who reached the spot, said that the passengers injured in the accident were admitted to the hospital, where two deaths have been reported. The matter is being investigated.
