A teacher in a renowned school in Karnataka has been dismissed from service for teaching Arnagal to children in the class.

The teacher is accused of teaching the children that Mahabharata and Ramayana are imaginary. The teacher also made alleged derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After the uproar by the right-wing group in the matter, the school administration has taken strict action against the teacher. On the other hand, the group says that soon a case will also be registered against the accused teacher.

The matter is related to the famous Convent School located in Mangaluru, Karnataka.

The group, backed by BJP MLA Vedyas Kamath, has alleged that a teacher at St. Gerosa English HR Primary School in the city was teaching students in the class that Mahabharata and Ramayana were “imaginary”.

Derogatory remarks on PM Modi
The group has alleged that the teacher mentioned the 2002 Godhra riots and Bilkis Bano gang rape case while speaking against PM Modi. She is trying to “instill a feeling of hatred in the minds of children”, the group said in a complaint.

They also protested on Saturday and today BJP MLAs also joined them and demanded suspension of the teacher.

The BJP MLA said, “If you are going to support that kind of teacher, what happened to your moral compass? Why are you hiring that teacher? The Jesus you worship desires peace.

Your sisters are asking our Hindu children not to keep or wear Bindi. He has said that pouring milk on Lord Ram is a waste. If someone insults your faith, you will not remain silent.”

Meanwhile, the parents of the children claimed that the teacher taught Class 7 students that Lord Ram was an “imaginary”. The Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) is investigating the matter. The school has dismissed the teacher over her alleged remarks.

The school said in a letter, “St. Gerosa School has a history of 60 years and no such incident has happened till date. This unfortunate incident has created a temporary distrust between us and our step will help rebuild this trust with your cooperation and we will all work together for a better future for our students.” Till the time of writing the news, no FIR has been registered against the teacher.
