Ottawa. Canada’s concerns about security have increased due to Donald Trump’s victory in America. Canada has sealed its US border and issued a high alert on the border due to increasing incidents of illegal immigrants. Canadian officials said that after Trump’s victory, the risk of a large number of illegal immigrants from America entering Canada has increased, due to which they have issued a high alert on the border. To tighten security, cameras, sensors and drones are being used along the 9,000 km long border. Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland is also holding meetings with officials to deal with this threat. Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesman Sergeant Charles Poirier said they are on high alert and monitoring the border because they fear Trump’s stance could lead to an increase in illegal migration. This situation has arisen when Donald Trump, during his election campaign, had called illegal immigrants a poison in the blood of the country and had promised that the largest mass deportation action would be taken in America during his government. Currently, the application process for permanent residence in Canada is taking one year, while the approval for asylum is expected to take up to 44 months. At present, there is an atmosphere of insecurity among illegal immigrants in America, due to which there is a huge search of words related to migration to Canada in Google Trends.
