Cancer vaccine is also going to be available in the market soon. Russian President Vladimir Putin himself has announced this.
He said that Russian scientists are close to making a vaccine against cancer which may soon be available to patients.
“We are very close to the creation of cancer vaccines and new generation immunomodulatory drugs,” Putin said in a televised message. I hope that soon these will be used effectively as methods of individual therapy. The Russian President said these things while speaking at the Moscow Forum on Future Technologies.
Vladimir Putin did not tell which type of cancer the vaccine would be more effective in treating and how it would show its effect.
It is known that many countries and companies are working on making cancer vaccines. Last year, the British government had signed an agreement with Germany-based BioNTech to start clinical trials for cancer treatment.
Its target is to reach 10,000 patients by 2030. Pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck & Company are also developing experimental cancer vaccines.
Its study showed that the chance of death from melanoma (the deadliest skin cancer) was halved after 3 years of treatment.
