Patna,. The four-day Chhath festival will begin on Tuesday with Nahay-Khay. Kharna ritual will be performed on Wednesday, first Arghya on Thursday evening and the festival will conclude after offering the last Arghya on Friday morning. On Chhath Puja, a large number of devotees throng the ghats of Patna and in view of this, the district administration has made extensive preparations. This time there were some challenges due to the rise in the water level of river Ganga, but the district administration has completely prepared all the ghats.
Devotees will worship at about 550 ghats of Ganga and tributary rivers.

Apart from this, Chhath Puja will also be performed at 45 parks and 63 ponds. Strict arrangements for security and facilities have been made by the district administration at all the ghats and ponds. Officials are keeping an eye on the preparations.
Installed 185 taps for drinking water
The corporation has installed 512 temporary toilets, 450 temporary urinals and 185 taps for drinking water. Along with this, 50 water tankers and 37 hand pumps have been made available. 355 temporary changing rooms have been built and 154 watch towers have been installed for security monitoring. 97 main and 13 auxiliary control rooms and 14 passenger sheds have been established.
SDRF and NDRF teams deployed for security
SDRF and NDRF teams have been deployed for security during Chhath Puja. 333 divers, 306 boats and 168 volunteers of civil defense will also be deployed. DM Patna has directed that no type of boat will be operated, whether for publicity or entertainment. There is a complete ban on boat operations and strict action will be taken against those violating the rules. Arrangements have also been made for continuous river patrolling in the river.
