An important meeting on the ongoing operations against Naxalism in the Naxal affected states of the country was held today at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Chief Ministers of other Naxal-affected states.
The focal point of this important meeting was the recently successfully concluded anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh, in which the state police killed 31 Naxalites.
In this operation, the efficient strategy of Chhattisgarh Police and the success of the schemes of the state government were specially discussed. Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were also present in the meeting.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the efforts of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and his team in this operation. He said that since January this year till now, the security forces of Chhattisgarh have killed about 194 Naxalites in encounters.
While 801 Naxalites were arrested and 742 Naxalites have surrendered. He said that even today the youth who are involved in Naxalism are requested to give up their weapons and join the mainstream. All the states have made better plans for your rehabilitation, take advantage of them.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai gave detailed information about the Naxal operation in the meeting. He told how the state police and intelligence agencies carried out this operation after months of hard work and planning. About 1000 soldiers were involved in the operation, who surrounded Gawadi mountain located within a radius of 15 kilometers and killed 31 Naxalites. Many big Naxalite leaders were killed in this operation, out of which a total reward of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh was declared on 16. 18 male and 13 female Naxalites were killed in the encounter.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai in his presentation told how the state police force carried out this operation on the basis of accurate intelligence information.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave detailed information not only on the success of the operation but also on the ongoing development work in the state. He said, “The pace of development work has been increased in Naxal affected areas.
We are continuously providing basic amenities to the villages, with special focus on education, health, and women empowerment.”
Chief Minister Sai said that under the continuous guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, we broke the core of the Maoists. We have established 32 new camps in such an area, which they even called their capital.
We also set up a camp in the village of his battalion commander Hidma and provided health facilities to his mother also.
Information given about future plans and goals
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai also discussed the further plans of the Chhattisgarh government. He said that the main goal of the state government is to eliminate the remaining strongholds of Naxalites and ensure permanent peace and development in these areas.
In the near future, 29 new security camps will be established in South Bastar, so that the influence of Naxalites can be eliminated.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while praising the successful operation in Chhattisgarh, urged the Chief Ministers of other states that they can also carry out operations in their respective states on the basis of Chhattisgarh’s intelligence technology and mutual coordination. The Home Minister also said that the Central Government is committed to provide all possible assistance to Chhattisgarh and other Naxal affected states and will extend full support to accelerate the development works in the state.
