Chhattisgarh has once again hoisted its flag at the national level in the field of cleanliness.
Chhattisgarh will be rewarded and honored at the national level for its excellent contribution in the field of cleanliness.
President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will present this award to the state of Chhattisgarh in a function organized at Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi on 11 January.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao will receive this award from the President.
On this occasion, Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary, Urban Administration Department. Along with this, elected public representatives, officers, divisional and district coordinators and sanitation sisters of many urban bodies of the state will also participate in the function.
Five urban bodies of the state, Raipur, Patan, Kumhari, Mahasamund and Arang will also receive the National Award for their good performance in the Swachh Survekshan-2023 organized by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
It is noteworthy that the world’s largest cleanliness survey is being conducted in the country by the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
Chhattisgarh state has made many notable achievements in the field of sanitation and has won awards at the national level.
In the year 2017 itself, Chhattisgarh has achieved the proud achievement of being an ODF state. Along with this, the state had also achieved the achievement of completing the construction of three lakh private toilets in the state.
Mission Clean City was started through 10 thousand Swachhta Didis to take forward the work of cleanliness in the state. Chhattisgarh state was awarded in Indore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its better results in cleanliness implementation.
The policies made and many projects related to cleanliness in the state of Chhattisgarh during the year 2014 to 2017 have helped in permanently promoting cleanliness in the state. Chhattisgarh State launched Suvidha-24 scheme for construction of public and community toilets to promote cleanliness through innovative experiments. Swachhta Shringar Yojana was started for the operation and maintenance of constructed public and community toilets.
It is worth mentioning here that in Chhattisgarh, to make cleanliness a habit of people and make it a permanent practice, waste management, construction and management of private, public and community toilets, safety of Safai Mitras, garbage free city, ODF and Special focus was given on the disposal of septic tank residues, which has helped in continuously improving cleanliness in the state.
