Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has paid tribute to world famous poet, litterateur, philosopher and creator of India’s national anthem Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his death anniversary on August 7.
Remembering the contribution of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Chief Minister Sai said that Gurudev Rabindranath Ji was a man of multi-faceted talents.
He wrote many novels, essays, short stories, plays and many songs. He breathed new life into Indian cultural consciousness through Bengali literature.
The Chief Minister said that a poet, writer, playwright, musician, painter, philosopher and social reformer, Tagore ji was the first Asian to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his collection of poems ‘Gitanjali’.
The songs written by him were composed into music and gave birth to a new culture of Rabindra Sangeet.
The widespread influence of his writings has resulted in his compositions becoming the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
Chief Minister Sai said that the multifaceted personality and work of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore is incomparable, his life and his wonderful works are a source of inspiration for all of us.
