Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the National Road Safety Short Film Festival organized in the capital Raipur.

The two-day National Short Film Festival has been organized at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium located at the Medical College, Raipur.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also watched short films on road safety ‘Finals’ and ‘Galti Mor Saja Tor’.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that today in the National Road Safety Short Film Festival, it was told through short films that a precious life is lost due to small carelessness.

This can be saved if traffic rules are followed completely. I watched these films and the traffic department has highlighted these carelessness through creative medium, which will have a very good impact on the audience and they will take traffic related precautions.

Due to not following traffic rules, people die untimely.

The traffic department and the police department not only continuously work on making people aware about road safety measures but also run campaigns to follow the traffic rules.

But we ourselves should also strictly follow road safety measures. Everyone’s life is very precious, small carelessness leads to road accidents and many people die in it. Many families are ruined.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, MP Sunil Soni, MLA Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma and MLA Motilal Sahu, Transport Department Secretary S. Prakash, Additional Director General of Police Pradeep Gupta and Dipanshu Kabra, Public Relations Commissioner Mayank Srivastava were also present.

The Chief Minister praised the Traffic Department for organizing the National Short Film Festival in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, for the purpose of road safety awareness.

He said that this film festival will prove to be a milestone in making people aware to follow traffic rules.

He said that such public awareness programs should continue.

The clippings of short films shown during the program today depicted the painful consequences of small carelessness in very impressive ways.

These films will inspire people to follow traffic and road safety rules. The Chief Minister has stressed the need to wear helmet while driving, not to use mobile and not to drive under influence of alcohol.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that today the number of vehicles has increased. Road accidents have also increased. The increase in road accidents is a matter of great concern in the world today.

He said that the consequences of small negligence are very serious. Many times the life of an accident victim becomes a burden.

He said that for patriotism there is no need to go to the border and fight, follow the traffic rules and make other people aware about the same.

Let us all together follow road safety rules and show ourselves as ideal and patriotic citizens.

Chief Minister Sai released the traffic guide and poster on this occasion. In the National Short Film Festival, the Chief Minister awarded the best short category films, best story and best artist of Chhattisgarhi, various languages ​​of Chhattisgarh and Indian languages ​​by giving them a check of prize money and a memento.

In the category of Chhattisgarhi films, the short film ‘Galti Mor Saja Tor’ was awarded the first prize, ‘The Tale of Negligence’ was awarded the second prize and the short film ‘Helmet’ was awarded the third prize.

In this category, the Best Story award was given to Limesh Kumar Sahu for the film ‘Galti Mor Saja Tor’, the Best Cinematography award was given to Rishil Thaware of The Tale of Negligence and the Best Actor award was given to Binny Pal of Helmet.

Similarly, in the category of short films in Indian languages, the first prize was given to Finals, the second prize was given to Rakshasutra and the third prize was given to The Great Gambler.

The finalists for Best Story were given to Vivek Vijayan of the film, Best Cinematography award was given to Shailesh Anikhindi of Traffic Rules, Best Actor award was given to actor Tulendra Patel of the film Hasty Mein Ghaldi. The Best Movie in Appreciation award was given to Gangua film director Devendra Jangade.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored the jury members Manoj Verma, Heera Manikpuri and Yog Mishra. He thanked Raipur Police Sub-Inspector T.K., who has done excellent work in the traffic department. Lal Bhoi, Mukesh Yadav of Mungeli, Belchandan Ekka of Jashpur and Virendra Verma of Dantewada were also honoured.

Welcome speech, Transport Department Secretary S. Prakash gave. He said that Road Safety Week was celebrated every year to bring public awareness towards traffic rules and road safety measures. Road Safety Month is being celebrated this year on the instructions of the Government of India.

He gave information about the works of the department. Additional Inspector General of Police, Traffic Department, Pradeep Gupta said that by the year 2023, the United Nations has set a target of reducing the number of deaths in road accidents by 50 percent.

He said that carelessness in wearing helmet while driving, not wearing seat belt while driving, over speed driving and drunk driving are the main causes of accidents, which should be avoided.

He said that in this National Short Film Festival, entries of more than 650 films in 6 languages ​​were received from 19 states, out of which 450 films have been selected.

Before this, the Chief Minister along with the guests visited the exhibition organized by the Transport Department on road safety.

He got information about the process by visiting the power house in the exhibition stall and the overbridge model made for controlling the traffic pressure in Bhilai Lane and the transport facility center for learning license of the common people and youth by the transport department. He inspected the training system for driving the vehicles of the drivers.
