Chief Minister gave a strong message to police officers to control crime

Said – Strict departmental action will be taken against police station level officers including Police Captain. There should be fear in the minds of criminals and respect among the general public towards police. Police should be strict towards criminals and gentle towards common people. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that our government has a policy of zero tolerance on crime, drug abuse and illegal activities. If crimes are not controlled, strict departmental action will be taken against the police captain of the concerned district.

The Chief Minister gave these strict instructions while addressing the conference of Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police held today at Police Headquarters Nava Raipur.

He said that there should be fear in the minds of criminals about the police and respect in the minds of the general public like the army.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev told the officials that the behavior of the police should be strict towards criminals and should be equally polite and soft towards the common people.

He said that social evils like illegal liquor, gambling, betting hollow the society from within. It is most worrying when youth are affected by it.

Giving strict instructions to the officers, the Chief Minister said that if criminal activities are not controlled, action will be taken not only against the police captain of the concerned district but also against the police officers at the police station level.

Chief Minister Sai said that the police department is a disciplined department, this discipline should be visible in the police officers, which will ultimately prove to be a milestone in the establishment of a disciplined and crime free society.

Referring to the efforts being made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish the concept of ‘punishment to justice’, he said that it should be ensured that the new laws are implemented in a time bound manner.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that our soldiers are fighting them bravely in difficult circumstances in the Maoist affected areas of the state. He gave the message that Chhattisgarh government is standing with the police personnel on every front and there will be no reduction in their facilities.

All necessary steps have been taken for the welfare of the police. We have made arrangements for timely promotion, accommodation, supply of resources including necessary infrastructure and will continue to do so.

Referring to the budget for the financial year 2024-25 of the Chhattisgarh government, Chief Minister Sai said that in this budget a large amount has been allocated for the police department. This budget will prove decisive in establishing the rule of law.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that the Home Department has got a lot in the first budget of the Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai government, there has been an increase of 16 percent in the budget of the Home Department as compared to the last year’s budget.

In this budget, a provision of ration bags and spike resistant shoes has been made for the soldiers going for Naxal operations, which will now provide convenience to the soldiers going for Naxal operations.

Provisions have also been made in this budget to increase the facilities of all the officers and employees of the police department. He said that our Chief Minister has equal sympathy for officers ranging from senior officers to constables.

It is the duty of all of us that if a crime occurs, we should catch the culprit as soon as possible. Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that an environment should be created in the society so that crime does not occur and with this aim in mind the officers should fulfill their responsibilities.

He said that if the police captain is determined that there should be no crime and no drug trade in the district then it will not happen at all. Chhattisgarh was an island of peace, we will establish it as an island of peace again, he reiterated this resolve.

In the conference, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja gave the welcome address and shared important information related to the police department. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua, Additional Director General of Police Himanshu Gupta, Pradeep Gupta, S.R.P Kalluri, Vivekananda Sinha, Amit Kumar Gupta, Secretary to the Chief Minister P. Dayanand, Rahul Bhagat, Dr. Basavaraju S. Including Inspector General of Police of all ranges of Chhattisgarh and Superintendents of Police of the districts were present.

At the end of the conference, group photography was also done in which Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, MLA Amar Aggarwal and Prabodh Minj were present.
