China: Many big countries including America and Russia are engaged in developing next generation fighter aircraft. China seems to be ahead in the race to prepare the sixth generation of fighter jets. During the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) introduced the world to the new jet. This may perhaps be a sixth generation fighter built for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). It is being called Baidi or White Emperor.
Speed of 1,236 kilometers per hour
Chinese government media said that this fighter aircraft is equipped with the capability of supersonic flight. That means it can fly at the speed of sound (1,236 kilometers per hour). According to reports, it also has the capability to cross the Earth’s atmosphere and carry out space missions. This fighter plane can bomb targets on earth from space.
Equipped with flexible mission capabilities and stealth technology
The White Emperor jet appears to be equipped with extremely flexible mission capabilities. Many changes have been made in its fuselage and the missile compartment has been made bigger. It has a state-of-the-art avionics system. At first glance its sleek, aerodynamic shape reflects the Chinese obsession with stealth technology.
Its design has large internal compartments that hide deadly weapons from the eyes of the enemy. According to reports, the first model can be ready for testing by next year. The final version of this jet will be able to fly at Mach 6 or six times the speed of sound.
