Beijing. The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday said India-China relations will improve after the meeting of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping as both the leaders agreed to improve bilateral relations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian told the media that a consensus has been reached between Modi and Jinping to improve relations. When the media questioned Jian on how Beijing views the meeting, Lin said China is ready to work together with India to view and handle bilateral relations from a strategic height and long-term perspective.
China’s emphasis on increasing dialogue and cooperation
Lin said China is ready to enhance dialogue and cooperation, strengthen mutual trust, resolve differences and put bilateral relations on the path of stable development. PM Modi and President Jinping supported Monday’s India-China agreement on patrolling and disengagement of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Lin said both sides consider the Modi-Jinping meeting constructive and important.
