CM Mann surrounded the Center on the smoke of stubble, said – ‘If Ukraine war can be stopped then why not this’

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi can stop the war in Ukraine as he has shown in the advertisement, then can’t he stop the smoke of stubble here? They should make all the states sit together on this issue, give compensation, and call scientists. The issue of stubble is not limited to any one state, it is an issue of entire North India.

Bhagwant Mann said on Friday that farmers of Punjab do not want to burn stubble, farmers do not even want to cultivate paddy but MSP is not available on alternative crops. He demanded compensation for farmers from the central government as a practical solution to the stubble problem, which could be an alternative to crop procurement. He said that when paddy is produced, farmers are praised but what about the stubble? Then they (NGT) want to recover the penalty.

We are demanding compensation to stop stubble burning

He further said that we do not know whether the smoke from Punjab reaches Delhi or not, but the smoke first harms the farmer and his village. He said that farmers are forced to burn stubble, which ultimately worsens the air quality. Mann said that we are demanding compensation to stop stubble burning, but the Center is asking farmers to encourage them against it.

He said that encouragement does not work, there is a need to take practical steps. Mann said that the state government has given 1.25 lakh machines to the farmers and as a result, out of 75 lakh hectare paddy crop, stubble of 40 lakh hectare has not been burnt.

No case will be registered against farmers who burn stubble: Haryana Chief Minister

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini said that no case will be registered against farmers who burn stubble, nor will any red entry be made in their agricultural records. Due to red entry, farmers will not be able to sell their crops in the mandis through the e-purchase portal in the next two seasons. It is known that after the Supreme Court took a strict stand on not registering a case against those accused of burning stubble, Haryana Agriculture Director Rajnarayan Kaushik has ordered registration of FIR against the farmers burning stubble and red entry in their agricultural records.
