Cold has started increasing in entire North India including Delhi-UP. After snowfall in the Himalayan regions, the temperature has come down considerably. With this, cold has increased in the plains. The Meteorological Department estimates that the mercury may fall rapidly in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan from the second week of December. Along with this, the severe cold will also gradually increase.
Snowfall in Himalayan regions
Snowfall is occurring intermittently in many areas of Kashmir-Himachal. According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh western disturbance may hit the Himalayan region from Friday. Due to this, light rain or snowfall may be seen in the higher reaches of Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur and Kullu districts along with Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
Dense fog will fall in Delhi
Due to this, dense fog may occur in Delhi also. However, no alert has been issued for NCR regarding this. There is a possibility of light to moderate smog or fog in the morning, evening and night in Delhi-NCR from November 30 to December 2.
Tamil Nadu heavy rain warning
Several parts of Tamil Nadu received heavy rainfall on Tuesday and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on November 27. The storm will be identified as Fengal, a name proposed by Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister MK Stalin chaired a high-level meeting at the Secretariat to review precautionary measures and sent NDRF and state teams to Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Cuddalore districts. Chennai and adjoining districts of Chengalpet, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur, the Cauvery delta region including the northern coastal cities of Cuddalore and Nagapattinam were among the places that received rainfall, which was light to moderate in many areas and heavy at some places.
IMD issues ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Orange Alert’ in Tamil Nadu
‘Red’ alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu on Wednesday and ‘Orange’ alert on Thursday. There will be heavy rain this week which will also affect Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe.
