Cold has started increasing in many states across the country including UP, Rajasthan and Delhi. The minimum temperature in Delhi has reached around 10 degrees. The coldest night of this season passed in Srinagar on Thursday. Whereas in most parts of Kashmir the temperature remained below zero due to which the cold has increased. The temperature in Srinagar was minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. Tourism has declined rapidly in Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Many areas of Kashmir recorded below zero temperatures for the third consecutive night.
The Meteorological Department of Jammu and Kashmir has predicted rain or snowfall in the next two days, especially in the higher reaches of Kashmir. Along with this, there is also a possibility of fog tomorrow in some states including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Delhi, UP. There are chances of rain in Bengal and Kerala. Possibility of snowfall at many places in Himachal Pradesh
In Himachal Pradesh too, there is a possibility of snowfall at one or two places on the higher peaks on Saturday. According to the latest forecast released by the Meteorological Department, there has been a warning of dense fog in the morning and evening in Mandi, Bilaspur and Una. The maximum drop in maximum temperature in the state has been recorded at 2.9 degrees Celsius in Kalpa and 2.7 degrees Celsius in Reckong Peo. Spiti Valley’s connectivity with Lahaul has been cut off.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Lahaul Spiti Rahul Kumar has issued a notification to close Gramphu to Losar NH-505 (Kunjum Pass) for traffic from Saturday till summer next year.
Dense fog in Uttarakhand may increase problems
