New Delhi . The Central Consumer Ministry has ordered all the 736 District Collectors and District Magistrates of the country. ISI standard helmets should be sold in their districts. If there is a helmet manufacturer in their district, then he should also manufacture helmets as per the standards. If a helmet of poor quality is found, the District Collector has been ordered to seal that factory.
This order has been sent to all district collectors by Bharat Kheda, Additional Secretary of the Consumer Ministry. A complete ban has been imposed on the manufacture and sale of substandard helmets. All district collectors have been instructed to take strict action. This action has been taken under the Road Safety Campaign.
