Preparations are going on for the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya on 22 January.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its associated organizations have started preparing for it.
PM Modi has been invited to install the idol of Lord Ram in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
Meanwhile, Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda said that it bothers him that in today’s politics of the country, Ram Temple and lighting of lamps is a national issue.
He said in an interview to news agency ANI, “The 2024 elections are going to decide the destiny of the country. This will decide what path India will take in the future. And I am worried about it.”
“I am concerned about it because religion is given too much importance,” he said. I see that democracy is being weakened.
It bothers me that everyone thinks that everything in the country happens because of the Prime Minister. We are getting signs that we are in the wrong direction. The whole country is stuck on Ram Mandir and Ram Janmabhoomi, lighting lamps. it bothers me.”
He further said, “Religion is a very personal thing for me. The national issues are education, employment, development, economy, inflation, health, environment and pollution. But no one speaks about it.” “Nations based on religion like Israel or Pakistan are very different from countries like America built on democracy, freedom and human rights,” the Congress leader said.
