Congress Party has collected Rs 3 crore through crowdfunding in just 48 hours. So far around 1,13,000 people have donated.
Let us tell you that Congress has started a nationwide crowdfunding campaign ‘Donate for Desh’ to raise resources for the party before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Till 9 am on Wednesday, Congress collected Rs 2.81 crore from 1,13,713 donors.
India Today, in a report, quoted party sources as saying that most of the donors have donated Rs 138. Only 32 people have donated Rs 1.38 lakh. The Congress Party is celebrating its 138th anniversary.
A senior leader said, “Most of those who donated have given Rs 138. Only 32 people have donated Rs 1 lakh 38 thousand. “626 people have donated Rs 13,000 and Rs 680.”
Leaders who donated Rs 1.38 lakh include Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, CP Joshi, Niranjan Patnaik, Sushil Kumar Shinde, TS Singh Deo, Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Kheda.
According to sources, more than 11 lakh people visited Donateinc.in. The site faced more than 20,000 bot attacks.
According to sources, the Congress party will send central observers to the states to ensure active participation of state leaders to promote funding from the affluent people to create an environment in its favor.
Similarly, a door-to-door campaign will begin soon to reach at least 10 people per booth in each constituency across the country.
A senior leader said that for the first time Congress will ask for money from the general public through QR codes during public rallies. According to the data, Congress has received maximum donations from Maharashtra (Rs 56 lakh). After this comes Rajasthan (Rs 26 lakh), Delhi (Rs 20 lakh), Uttar Pradesh (Rs 19 lakh) and Karnataka (Rs 18 lakh).
Congress sources revealed that 81 per cent have donated through UPI. About 8 percent contributed through credit cards. Most of the donors are from Bihar. Although their amount is less.
