Gujarat. The railway track was tampered with near Kim railway station in Surat, Gujarat. Some unknown people had removed the fish plate and keys from the up line track. They were kept on the same track. Along with this, 71 locks connecting the railway tracks were also removed. On getting information about the matter from the local people, the up station superintendent alerted the key-man Subhash Kumar. When the track was inspected, it was found that someone had conspired to derail the train. After this the route was closed. However, after a short while, the railway service was resumed after installing new fish plates.
